The XX

The xx were brilliant last night. I love how cool and aloof they looked on stage, and how that juxtaposes with their earnest, soulful lyrics. There’s something so plaintive and beautiful about lines like “You move through the room / Like breathing was easy / If someone believed me / They would be /As in love with you as I am”. I was gutted to miss them at Electric Picnic last year, so this was a real treat.I also got this pillowcase as a keepsake – possibly the oddest bit of merchandise I’ve ever bought at a gig.
