Inspire My Day Tip 2: Photography

Thinking about what inspires me, photography comes top of the list, but for more reasons than the obvious visual one. I love that it doesn’t matter what camera you have, the beauty of photography is that the simple act of taking photos itself, on whatever device is available, offers you a moment to stop, just for a second, and live in the right now. Pause, click, pause.

Mindfulness is something that I’m fascinated by (I wrote a piece for the Irish Independent about it), but more often than not I can only truly get there with photography. As Susannah says, photography is my yoga. So today’s tip is to try to use photography to help you slow down and be present. And I can think of no better way to do that than with The August Break, a lovely and loose month-long photo project.
