Inspire My Day Tip 4: Play Time
No matter how busy you are, down time is important. And there’s not better way to get out of your head than playing with a couple of toddlers. After the mini photo session with Isabel, I spent some time snapping and playing with her two big brothers. Their energy, sense of wonder and ability to giggle and laugh at almost anything is infectious, and good for the soul. Got nieces, nephews or even friends’ kids? Take some time to just play.
To paraphrase a famous expression, the best gift you can give a child is your time. Looking back on my kid years, while I really appreciate the pressies, the invaluable help, and, of course, the countless hot dinners, I treasure the time. Explaining something, answering their many curious questions, or just hanging out is so important. Ethan is five now, so I’m very aware that there are moments happening right now that will be among his earliest memories, which totally tugs at the heart strings.
He’s is still into my magic coin trick, though I know it won’t be long before he’s on to me. Noah, meanwhile, is such a ball of adorable toddler energy that it’s near impossible to get a shot of him standing still right now! I needed a little nap after chasing him around, I don’t know how my sis does it every day.
This post is part of the Alpro Inspire My Day campaign, of which I’m a proud ambassador! These pics were taken on a play session at St Stephens Green.
