The Summer on 35mm Film
When we were in London last month, Ben and I picked up a second-hand Canon 300V at a stall in Portobello. It’s a film camera, but the brilliant thing about it is that it takes the EF lenses from our digital kit. We picked up some super cheap 35mm film in a pound shop and just got some pics developed.
The thing that gave me a buzz about shooting film as a kid still does now – not quite remembering what’s on a roll, and having pics within those 24 shots that could be days or even weeks apart. Despite the massive leap in both gear and digital processing, I think there is a richness and warmth to film shots – even super cheap ones – that’s hard to beat.
Shot of the sun lounger, the artwork in the Rob Ryan shop window, and the cheesy pic of me all taken by Ben.
