Tea with a twist

The following pics perfectly illustrate two of the loveliest perks I have going at the moment. Perk One: I was invited, along with Team KISS and Team Stellar, to Cork Dry Gin’s “afternoon tea with a twist” at The Merrion.

I got there and instantly fell in love with the drool-some set-up, styled by the amazing Pearl & Godiva. I started itching to snap everything in sight, but had of course left my camera in the office. Enter Perk Two: Going out with a photographer. Ben was on his way up, and brought his own 5D, along with his 50mm 1.8 and 20mm 2.8 lenses. Woot! So the shots below were all taken using his gear.

I’m so glad I got to snap this absolutely stunning set-up. And, speaking of Ben, he has just started his own photoblog, which I totally recommend checking out. But then I would.

  1. Beautiful pictures Nathalie, I think I may have to print this post for future reference 🙂

    1. Oh, really? What event, pray tell, would you need inspiration for? 😛

  2. Gorgeous as always, lady!

    1. Thanks! We should do have a photo/baking day soon btw.

  3. Love it Nathalie! Beautiful photos.

    1. Thank you Christina! I couldn’t get over the light in The Merrion – so gorgeous and clean. The GIANT windows obviously helped, and gave warmth, but their own chandeliers have this very pure white light which I loved. Wonder how much it would cost to switch all my lightbulbs over?!

  4. Looks gorgeous. Adoring the little beret in the last picture. Want!

    1. Me too! The dresses (all silk) were stunning, and the vintage-style hair and make-up blew me away. Must get the designer’s details and add them to the post. And thank you 🙂

  5. Love love love the photos Nathalie, was great meeting you the other week! Pearl did an amazing job I am very much so in love with this vintge china, I wonder if I could have a mad hatters half birthday party?…
    xx

    1. Lovely to meet you too! Can’t wait to try some of your macaroons 🙂

  6. OMG the cake! The flowers! The china! The dresses! And a shining knight in armour with a 5d too, that’s made of win 😉

    1. Haha, love it! I’m sure you too have benefited from having an extra body with a camera attached around 🙂 I do have this terribly mean habit when using Ben’s 50mm 1.8 though. I forget it’s not my 1.4 and keep turning the wheel and saying “Why doesn’t it go any further?!”. Poor guy.

  7. Ha! Yes, yes you do, but my fragile ego has survived 🙂 Also, these shots are deadly!
