7 Things Filling My Cup Right Now
Plus a new hot sauce obsession.
Lana Del Rey’s Margaret, on repeat.
Weekend walks
The grey is slowly, slowly lifting here in the west, so we’re venturing out for little wanders to the likes of Oughterard, above. We popped into Sullivan’s for cinnamon buns, natch, but also grabbed coffee in new-to-me spot My Little Flower, which was lovely, before going on a kid-friendly hike.

Solo dates with just one kid.
I’m not sure what the parent math on this is, but when you have one child - it is full on. When you have two, suddenly having one is such a breeze. On a recent random Saturday, Ari and I spent a few hours hanging out in town; we went to Ard Bia for French toast and his orange and cranberry spritz came in a stemmed glass which he got a kick out of.
We spent ages roaming around Galway City Museum, in the slow, curious way that’s impossible when there’s a giddy toddler in the mix. We then picked up some pick and mix, wandered Shop Street and headed home. It was so wonderful to be able to give him my undivided attention and really appreciate him for the 6.5 year old marvel he is.

Solo dates solo.
After a morning of shooting portraits, I popped into Salsa with my gear bag and made this photo of my blissful solo lunch. Not sure what filled my cup more – the alone time, or having my camera while glorious sun streamed in right as my food arrived. These low light days have been hitting me hard.
Sending the spring issue of Galway Now to press.
It’s out at the end of the week!

Spicy margs at Bierhaus TMI margaritas with mum friends.
Moving to a new city is tough, especially with little kids in tow. I have found the coolest, loveliest tribe and just can’t believe my luck that these gorgeous, smart, inspiring women are my friends. Sometimes it’s wine and Dirty Dancing, or zip lining or a chill brunch in Barna or Thursday margaritas in Bierhaus. Whether it is, I love it and am grateful for it.The Diplomat.
I’m a little late to the party, but I’m here now and absolutely loving this show. Kerri Russel is fantastic and the writing is *chef’s kiss*.
Plus, a new hot sauce addiction

In the above pic, the two products on the right, White Mausu’s Peanut Rayu and Nutshed’s crunchy honey roasted, are both staples in our house but I tried Chimac’s Korean Hot Sauce at a friend’s recently and had to get a bottle immediately (Galway friends, you can pick it up in McCambridges). Tangy with just a subtle kick, I can’t get enough of it.
