Behind the scenes on The Kai Cookbook
One of the big highlights of this year was having the privilege to photograph The Kai Cookbook.
For two weeks in April, Jess, food stylist Charlotte, and publisher Kristin and I brought the imagery of the cookbook to life.

There is such a beautiful spark when women who love what they do and are passionate about it come together and blend their skills. The vibes were honestly just the greatest.

I was been lucky enough to taste almost every recipe (including the iconic fish fingers 😆) and can tell you it is divine. Bold and delicious and fun.
It's gotten some fab press since it launched, including:
- A shout out from Nigella Lawson
- Some glowing reviews, including The Irish Examiner, Irish Times and from Sally and John McKenna
- Featured in The Observer's best food books of 2025
- Featured in Stylist magazine
- Beautiful feature in New Zealand's Cuisine Magazine
- A gorgeous write up from Darina Allen
It has been such a joy to have played a part in bringing this into the world. I'll be forever grateful to Jess and Dave for trusting me to photograph it.
If you're in Galway, you can buy your copy from Kai, Charlie Byrnes or online here.
