π A birthday wish
When mama switches off the light,
You'll still be seven years old tonight.
But from the very break of day,
Before the children rise and play,
Before the darkness turns to gold,
Tomorrow, you'll be eight years old.
Eight kisses when you wake,
Eight candles on your cake.

This is the year of front teeth and a big a bike and reading chapter books and a deepening Zelda obsession and watching you become the most incredibly loving and fun big brother.
Everyone tells you the time flies, that it gathers pace as they get older and seems to zoom by even quicker, but it's breathtaking to live it.
